Ethereum processes $166 million worth of transactions per hour

According to data shared by Shawn Douglass, CEO of Amberdata, Ethereum processes $166 million worth of transactions each hour, which equates to around $4 billion daily. He said that 53.5 percent of these transactions in 7 days, or about $2 billion, were smart contracts.

This trend is expected to continue. β€œIt will likely continue because usable and useful Ethereum Dapps are only just beginning to emerge,” Douglas said.

These apps include things like Brave Browser, Dai, Request Network, Digix, and PeepEth, which is like Twitter, and much more.

On the other hand, Sharding is on Ethereum’s agenda right now. . Ethereum developers are working hard on this solution, which aims to increase the transaction capacity of the Ethereum blockchain. Vitalik Buterin shared the latest developments in the scaling solution with the announcement of ‘Sharding is coming’ from his personal Twitter account in the past weeks. The solution is seen as a technology that will bypass Ethereum and it is said that it may be operational sooner than expected.
