Bithumb, one of South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, will announce the details of the ICO it will organize to launch its own digital currency, Bithumb Coin, this week.
According to the news in Money Today, this is the case. The move has caused significant excitement in the e-commerce world, as at least two of South Korea’s biggest online merchants have decided to add the new currency to their payment options.
Bithumb has yet to officially confirm the ICO news. However, Money Today quoted the source’s words as follows:
“Bithumb will reveal all the details of the ICO this week. Bithumb Coin can be used as a means of payment at places like WeMakePrice and Gmarket to expand the payment options for these companies.”
Gmarket is owned by eBay and one of the largest online sellers in the country. WeMakePrice is one of the fastest growing online marketplaces in the country.
Bithumb has confirmed that it will launch its ICO through a subsidiary established abroad and is currently in the process of acquiring a technology company in Singapore.
